Biennial. Blooms in spring. 2'-3' tall. Sun or light shade. Flower spikes with 1"-2" long bell-shaped flowers of purple, violet, blue, lavender, pink, and white. Canterbury Bells are biennials that produce foliage the first year, and flowers the second year.

When to plant outside: Sow in late spring or early summer for bloom the second year.

When to start inside: Sow 6-8 weeks before last frost. May bloom first year if started early enough indoors. Seed requires light to germinate - press lightly into soil surface and keep moist.
